Program Description:
Geriatric Psychiatry Services provides accessible, non-threatening mental health care to frail, elderly people who suffer from depression, anxiety, other major psychiatric disorders, lifelong personality disorders, normative life transition problems or severe psychosocial adjustment problems.
Contemporary psychotherapeutic and psychopharmacological approaches are offered by an interdisciplinary team of professionals, which includes three board-certified psychiatrists, a clinical psychologist and a masters-level social worker.
Patients undergo extensive psychiatric evaluation and actively participate with their therapists to develop meaningful treatment plans. Treatment may consist of individual, couple and family psychotherapy, and may include medications when appropriate.
