Program Description:
The HIV Counseling and Testing Program serves the needs of those persons who may be at risk for the acquisition of infection with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Any person can request an appointment by phone or in person. They can also be referred by their physicians. Appointments are prompt, including evening as well as day-time hours.
Clients are interviewed by a nurse counselor and/or social worker. Oral antibody testing is done with results available in 30 minutes after which the client is counseled. All information remains confidential.
