The Crohn's and Colitis Center of New Jersey was established under the tutelage of Dr. Kiron M. Das, a renowned expert on inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The program evaluates both adult and pediatric patients suspected of or diagnosed with Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis. In addition to conventional treatments, the Center offers the most up-to-date therapeutic options in the management of Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis, and participates extensively in clinical trials of new agents.
The program is the only center in New Jersey to offer a multi-disciplinary, comprehensive approach to these complex medical problems, including specialists in gastroenterology, surgery, pediatrics, radiology, pathology, psychiatry, and nutrition. The full range of endoscopic procedures is offered in evaluating patients with inflammatory bowel disease, including upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, video capsule endoscopy, and narrow band imaging.
Basic research in inflammatory bowel diseases in conducted at our state-of-the-art laboratories and is dedicated to research focusing on the etiology and diagnosis of inflammatory bowel disease with the goals of developing novel treatments.
The goals of the program are to provide state-of-the-art and compassionate patient care and patient education; to continue research in inflammatory bowel diseases; and to train medical students, residents, and gastroenterology fellows to continue providing high quality care to patients with IBD.
