The Regional Comprehensive Sickle Cell CenterRobert Wood Johnson University Hospital Program DescriptionThe Regional Comprehensive Sickle Cell Center at UMDNJ- Robert Wood Johnson Medical School is a statewide referral program for the diagnosis and management of sickle cell disease and other hemoglobinopathies. The Program, staff and resources are comprehensive. It includes both a pediatric and an adult section. In 1999, a transition service and clinic were established to provide appropriate care for young adults diagnosed with sickle cell disease. The Program is recognized by and receives funding from the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS). |
