Breast Oncology ProgramNJ Comprehensive Breast Care Center Program DescriptionThe New Jersey Comprehensive Breast Care Center at CINJ provides comprehensive multidisciplinary evaluation for people with newly diagnosed or recurrent breast cancer as well as evaluation of common breast problems such as abnormal mammograms, breast lumps and other breast symptoms. Mammography using state of the art digital equipment as well as breast ultrasound and MRI is provided at the Women's Imaging Center at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. Patients with concerns about hereditary breast cancer or other high-risk breast conditions are evaluated in the Life Center. The team includes medical oncologists, surgical oncologists, radiation oncologists, breast radiologists, plastic and reconstructive surgeons, pathologists, social workers, clinical psychologists and nurse practitioners. When appropriate, patients are evaluated for participation in national cooperative group clinical trials as well as for clinical trials available only at CINJ. Second opinions for patients requiring or requesting confirmative consultations are also provided. Following treatment, follow-up is provided in the Breast Cancer Survivor's Program.
