Division of General Internal MedicineClinical Academic Bldg., Suite 5100A The Division of General Internal Medicine is composed of highly trained and skilled physicians who are often referred to as Internists or as Doctors for Adults. We serve as primary care physicians as well as hospital-based physicians (hospitalist). We are dedicated to prevent, diagnose, and treat diseases affecting adults. Some of the many diseases we treat include diseases of the heart and blood vessels, cancer, diabetes, digestive diseases, hormonal disorders, infections, kidney diseases, respiratory disorders, allergies, blood diseases and arthritis. Our patients range from teenagers to senior citizens. We are skilled at managing patients with chronic illnesses and multiple illnesses at the same time. The Division has several specialty programs. We lead the Geriatrics program that specializes in the care of elderly patients. The practice provides comprehensive and coordinated care focused on maintenance of independence and functional capacity. We direct the Center for Innovations in Bloodless Surgery and Medicine at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital and offer bloodless techniques in every surgical and medical specialty. We lead the Hospitalist Program at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital which provides state of the art hospital care directed by physicians who specialize in caring for patients in the hospital. The Division in partnership with Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital directs The Executive Health program which provides state of the art diagnostic care and examinations that can detect disease early, and lead to effective treatment. The Executive Examination is completed in just five hours, and provides patients with results the same day.
